Today in the New York Times was an article about electronic cigarettes that fascinated me. The article was about a lady that had a terrible smoking addiction for 34 years of her life. She tried the nicotine patches, gum, and prescription drugs to help reduce her three pack a day habit, but none of these seemed to make a difference. Then, one day while watching TV she saw a commercial advertising electronic cigarettes and decided to try it out. She believes the cigarette can save her life and she has reduced her smoking to half of what she use to. The e-cigarette has not been studied and have not been government approved, but enough of them have made it into the U.S. that they continue to be made and sold on the Internet and in malls. Public health officials warn to use at your own risk.
I feel like this new product will help reduce the amount of secondhand and also aleviate people from having to smoke all the time.

ReplyDeletewow i don't know anything about the e-cigarette other than what i just read but i'm strongly against smoking so anything that helps one reduce the amount of tobacco they take in is pretty awesome.
ReplyDeleteI have read other articles about the e-cigarette and I was amazed that the product is actually being used by smokers. I just hope that non-smokers will turn to this product thinking that they are not harmful for them as any ounce of nictone inhaled is harmful.
